I am later than many to follow all of the trends of social networking. I do use a little bit of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn as well as do some Blogging and Forum Posting. The purpose of this page is to simply explain how I use the Internet and Social Networking sites. This is not a page providing recommendation of how others should use such sites. I just wanted a place to list all of the sites in which I am involved in one way or another.

The Cisco Learning Network is a place where Network Engineers of all level get together, share information and learn from each other. This is a fairly new network. As of this writing there are about 93,000 members, so it is growing very quickly. Now I have to pat myself on the back a little bit and say that I am the number 8 in participation status. So I spend a little bit of time there.  LinkedIn is a great professional network. I am not an open networker, but accept invitations from others I have met personally or met elswhere on the Internet. Most professionals that I am connected with are networking or security professionals, technology instructors, or somehow otherwise connected to the field of technology.
Lexnet is the company that I work full time for as a network and security consultant. My work is primarily in the banking industry as well as some general small to medium business network infrastructure and security consulting. I use @packetu to post about technology related items. I have another account, @pestewart , that I use to follow people that I know personally. With the @pestewart account, I follow my family and those I have met and have a relationship with. PacketU is the this website. I started it as a networking and technology blog. The original intent was to teach people about networking from the perspective of the wire using a packet sniffer. It has become a little more generalized than that and has become a place for me to post as I go through my CCIE Security journey. So you never know what you'll find, but it'll be tech.
Well everyone else has a facebook account. I have one, but not very active nor interesting. Feel free to send a friend request if I went to school with you, if you are family, or if we have something in common (like technology). I think that's about it. I also participate in some CCIE Security mailing lists as well as comment on various sites across the Internet.
