Networking Field Day 4, Final Thoughts

For those who have followed @packetu on twitter, it’s pretty hard to miss the fact that I was part of a special event this week. This week I attended a GestaltIT Tech Field Day Event as a delegate. Specifically, this was a Networking Field Day Sponsored By the following vendors.

  • StatSeeker
  • Opengear
  • Spirent
  • Brocade
  • Cisco
  • Juniper

For three days, I have felt like I was drinking from the firehose of technology. I have learned a great deal from the sponsors and the other delegates. I can hardly grasp the depth and breadth of knowledge of the individuals I have been surrounded by this week. The event was top notch and I have to give a special thanks to Greg Ferro for sharing his wealth of general and technical knowledge (as well as airtime on the PacketPusher’s Podcast). Additionally, I want to give props to Stephen Foskett for arranging a first class event for all parties involved.

I want to encourage everyone to follow the other bloggers that were part of NFD4. Additionally, stay tuned on PacketU for several posts that will come as soon as I digest all of the content that was presented this week.

  1. Awesome. Will join you guys one day! 🙂

  2. It was one of the delegates that compared the discussions to speed dating – there was a lot of information and occasionally not enough time to really digest and ask questions.
