Is Cisco Trying to Tell Us a Story?

Within the past week or so, several interesting announcements have been made regarding Cisco Systems. I’m really starting to get curious what the theme and message of Cisco Live US will be this year.

Recent Announcements

The question in my mind is what message are they going to deliver this year. In the past, it has seemed to be more about solving new problems and expanding in different directions. I’m hoping that Cisco has finally decided to balance that out and reign in their focus. With UCS, they have a very interesting play in the datacenter environment. They also have a core competency in routing and switching. In addition, Cisco has a lot of momentum. I hope this year’s message is that Cisco is finally going to focus that momentum on strategies that meet the needs that relate to their current primary customer base, enterprise customers.
